Well, today marked the first day that we could go swimming at the public aquatic center. We arrived at 10:00 (the official opening time) to find out that today the pool did not open until 12:00. So, we went to the park and played for a while before lunch. After dinner, Joe, Will, and I went back to the pool. There were not many kids there at 7:00! The water was very cold and Will is not use to cold water. He takes swimming lessons in the therapy pool at the YMCA, and the pool is always very warm. Will cried a lot at the pool (I think because it was so cold), but he did manage to go down a couple of slides. It's nice that he can walk the whole length of the kiddie pool and climb all the water equipment. His favorite water activity was the frog slide, though he wouldn't go down it alone. He started climbing the stairs and then he stopped. He turned around and told Joe that they were wet. I guess he didn't think they should be, even though they were in the pool. After playing in the kiddie pool, we let Will play in the playground area. I know that was his favorite part of the evening. I guess that he will get use to the pool (I hope so because we bought a season pass....). After the pool we went to Dairy Queen for milkshakes and Blizzards. What a fun day!
